Adobe just realised a series of updates across the entire Lightroom suite (Lightroom CC, Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Mobile) and the biggest and most important new feature I want to talk about today is the ability (finally) to sync your Lightroom Presets across all programs.
YES! Now you can use your Lightroom Classic presets in Lightroom CC and Lightroom Mobile.
This has been a feature countless people have been asking for! Now we can finally bring those filters and presets we love from Lightroom Classic and use them all across our Lightroom applications. Great!
No longer any need for an annoying workaround with copying and pasting image settings. Just click on the preset and it will apply.
Here’s my quick guide to make it work:
1 – Open Lightroom CC
Make sure your Lightroom CC and Lightroom Mobile app are synced to the Creative Cloud for this process to work. Once syncing is turned on the presets will automatically appear** across all your Lightroom applications.
If this doesn’t work immediately you can follow the steps below.
2 – Import Profiles & Presets
Make sure your Lightroom CC and Lightroom Mobile app are synced to the Creative Cloud for this process to work. Once syncing is turned on the presets will automatically appear** across all your Lightroom applications.
But first, you have to import your presets from Lightroom Classic. To do this follow the steps below:
Click on File > Import Profiles & Presets and navigate to:
Mac: Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/Settings
Windows: C:/Users/UserName/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/CameraRaw/Settings
from here select your presets and click on Import.

3 – Open Lightroom CC Mobile App
For me the presets wouldn’t synchronise automatically. So in order to get them to appear in the Lightroom Mobile App I had simply log out and back in again on my mobile device.

Couldn’t be simpler than that!
The other great new feature is that you can now create and use presets in Lightroom Mobile too. So if you like to do some tweaking or editing while on the move and really like that look you just created. Well, now you can save that and it will be visible in Lightroom CC too.
All my Lightroom Preset Packs now come with presets you can use on Lightroom CC, Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Mobile! Each pack also comes with detailed, easy to understand instructions on how to install the presets. Check out my Preset Packs Here
Some people haven’t been able to import the Presets into the Lightroom Mobile app. Here a few things that will help to solve this:
– make sure you’re using the same Adobe account across all Lightroom Apps (just check the email)
– close and re-open all the Lightroom Apps
– log out and back into Adobe Creative Cloud (on all devices)
– log out and back into Lightroom Mobile (this worked for me)
Lightroom now also lets you manage your presets and you can choose to hide certain presets. They won’t be gone, but just not visible anymore.

Hi Chris,
I have a question for using Lightroom CC. I am using Lightroom CC Classic as my primary editor and don’t want to screw it up by using LR CC but want to get my presets to LR Mobile.
Thanks for any help.
I use CC classic as my primary editor too, actually. Just open up Lightroom CC and create a new Catalog there and don’t import any of your files. Just create an ’empty’ Catalog. Once you’ve done that you’ll be able to sync the presets into the Lightroom CC Catalog and then see them in Lightroom Mobile too.
Hope that answers your question.
Chris
What if the opposite. I want to apply my LCC/Mobile preset to desktop (LClassic)
I don’t see why that shouldn’t work too.
Is there a way to have the newer presets to work with Lightroom 3 version?
I’d say that the older Lightroom versions need the old type of presets. But can’t say 100% for sure as I can’t test it.
Can I import presets from my Lightroom desktop/Lightroom mobile to Lightroom Classic? And how? Do I need the original files?
