Golden Hour – When the light is right.
A surfer spraying spraying the gold at sunrise.

This view was the reward for the sketchiest climb I ever went on.
Just past Tuolumne Meadows I found a dome that just quite not too steep to climb. And so I packed my camera bag and zig-zagged my way to the top. Just in time for golden hour and some amazing sunset light hitting the forrest below me. The swinging trees reminded me of the water dancing in a calm green ocean. The peak in the middle of all this green was suddenly a tiny island fighting to survive in the sea of green.
It was a rather cloudy afternoon and the sun was long gone behind the clouds when I noticed a blue gap of sky between the horizon and the layer of clouds. As the afternoon came to an end the gap was closing and the clouds started to join the horizon line.
But just in time the sun managed to peek through and light up the sky in an intensity of colours I have never seen before. For 5 minutes the whole Yosemite Valley was glowing bright, warm orange before the gap in the sky closed and the sun disappeared behind the mountains.
I’ve never seen anything like it.
This image would look amazing in pretty much any format. Small, Large, Canvas or Acrylic… you name it.
